הסדרה קרועים מוצגת (ומקוריינת) מנקודת מבטו של וויל 'תיק היד המאונן' מקנזי תלמיד חנון בביה'ס פרטי שבעקבות גירושי הוריו נאלץ לעבור לביה'ס ציבורי בפרוור קטן מחוץ ללונדון. בביה'ס החדש וויל בולט לרעה (מלבד המקטורן ותיק היד המורה הפסיכופט שלו מכריח אותו להסתובב עם תג 'תלמיד חדש') והוא מחליט לעשות הכל כדי למצוא חברים חדשים ולא למצוא את עצמו במשבצת 'הפריק' של ביה'ס. וויל מתחבר לסיימון ג'יי וניל שלושה חברים בני 16 מבית הספר החדש שלו כשלכל אחד מהם אובססיה משלו: סיימון הרומנטיקן מאוהב בחברתו הטובה שלא שמה לב לקיומו ויוצאת עם בחור מבוגר יותר (ועם רשיון). ג'יי הוא מפלצת הורמונים חרמנית בעלת פה המלוכלך חושב כל היום על סקס ואם אין סקס אז גם פורנו (או פנטזיות על אמא של וויל) יספק אותו ואילו ניל 'הגאון' גר עם אביו הגרוש והבודד (או כפי שחבריו מכנים אותו 'המתכופף') ולמרות שהוא לא העפרון הכי מחודד בקלמר הוא נאמן לחבריו.הסדרה קרועים
